This week was our final chance to show off our skateboarding skills. Over the past eight weeks we have had awesome sessions with our two skateboarding coaches Martin and Aidan. Some of the things that we have picked up along the way are:
- how to balance and push ourselves on the skateboard
- how to take apart and reassemble a skateboard using teamwork
- how to turn both ways
- how to ride up and down ramps
Here are some photos of Manukau in action last week:
We have had so much fun and we are really sad to finish this adventure. Many of us have developed or strengthened our love of skateboarding through this. We might even check out their holiday programme and look forward to having a go at this again soon.
Please leave us a positive, thoughtful and helpful comment to find out more.

ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed following your adventures of learning to skateboard on your blog. It's great to hear you have all learnt so many new skills. I imagine being a skateboard coach would be a fantastic job! I imagine they are amazing skateboarders! Have they showed you all the tricks they can do?
Tania
Hi there Tania, thanks for the comment! These skateboarding teachers were really good at teaching us. I'm pretty sure that they have shown all the tricks they can do because they usally do tricks while we skateboard.

Wow!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed to see these young 'rippers' learning how to skate. Would I be right in assuming that Mr Riceman used to spend his time skating around the concrete jungle? You have inspired us to post some skateboarding videos now. I was very impressed with the one-footed-50/50 in slide 13. That must have taken a very long time to master!
Here is a pic of me skateboarding on my new driveway.
