Week Eight - Confident Kids

This week we have started the Keeping Ourselves Safe (KOS) programme. We had a fantastic first session in which we discussed and completed activities around the key message "Confident kids make safe decisions". Parents, we are bringing some home learning sheets home to discuss these confident decisions with you.  We acknowledge that to make a safe decision, and help others out we need to confidently describe our feelings. Below you will see our class generated padlet that describes the feelings we know.  Lots of thought went into this, please leave us a comment if you feel there are any other important feelings we missed out.

  1. What a range of differing emotions. Have you felt all of the emotions listed at some point in your life, and do you know how to act when you feel these different ways? Right now I feel proud - proud of the mature and thoughtful students in R8, who have created this wonderful post. Ka pai!

  2. Hi Kaine,
A video would be a great way for us to show our learning too, thanks for the suggestion. We came up with these ideas really quickly as part of keeping ourselves safe.
    Thanks for your comment,

  3. Hi Sam,
Thanks for your suggestion, maybe one of the students can add it to their idea padlet too. We came up with so many words by talking to each other in the class then writing them down.
Thanks for reading and commenting on our blog!

  4. Hi James,
Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on our blog. We worked really hard to come up with interesting words that we might even be able to use in our writing too.
Are there any word we missed that you would add?

  23. Kia ora Manukau,
We like the word Hangry because it's unique. We learnt it means you are hungry and angry at the same time and it's also portmanteau word, which is two words combined. This was really new to us.
